One of BioWare’s most accomplished writers, Drew Karpashyn, recently left the studio, and seeing as he was a significant aspect on the teams that wrote a few of BioWare’s finest games (in fact, he was also the lead writer on Mass Effect 2), individuals have certainly been a little worried about what this means for Anthem. Studio boss Casey Hudson did move to buy SWTOR credits speak about this last week and give reassurances, and now BioWare’s Brennon Holmes has performed a bit bit of that as well.
On a Reddit thread on the Anthem sub-Reddit, a fan spoke about how whilst Hudson had reaffirmed that Karpashyn had completed all his perform on Anthem just before leaving the studio, he in no way actually mentioned who the project’s lead writers were. In response to this comment, Holmes quickly pointed out that Cathleen Rootsaert (Mass Effect series, Star Wars: The Old Republic) and Jay Turner (Mass Effect series, Dragon Age: Origins) are serving as the lead writers for Anthem.
Meanwhile, within a separate thread on Reddit, Holmes also spoke about options in Anthem which can be meant to aid players with hearing or seeing disabilities. When the thread itself spoke about what Anthem can consist of as features to help players with hearing disabilities, Holmes spoke just a little about related options for colourblind players. “We have the colorblind stuff up and running appropriate now,” he said. “I believe the choices are for: Protanopia, Deuteranopia and Tritanopia.”
Yet another user described the how Bungie handles colour puzzles, commenting that they’d rather have extra visual cues inside the game that just colours, to which Holmes stated, “Yeah, I can’t guarantee we will not have any SWTOR credits… but it is one thing we’re maintaining an eye on. We do not would like to have mechanics which can be purely visual or aural (particularly in the event the visual elements are tied strongly to colour).”
Anthem is due out for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019, soon after it was pushed back earlier within the year for its initial 2018 release. Remain tuned to GamingBolt for far more coverage.
